CAMP & CONFERENCE GUIDELINES
In an attempt to create a Christian community
during camp, the following guidelines are to be used as an orientation
for community life. The success and enjoyment of this experience
in Christian fellowship will largely depend upon mutual responsibility
to yourself, to each other and to God. Campers will be held accountable
to the following guidelines:
-
Campers have a responsibility to the land,
animals and structures. Campers are to show respect to the campground
and its surroundings so as to not destroy or mistreat the land, animals
and structures. Campers will be held financially responsible for
damages they incur.
-
Campers must participate in all camp activities,
including meals.
-
Campers must take responsibility for themselves
by not hiking alone and dressing appropriately. Closed toed shoes
must be worn.
-
Radios, cell phones, pagers, tape/CD players,
televisions, electronic devices, skate boards, roller blades, and bikes
are to be left at home. If brought, they will be held by the directors
for the remainder of the week.
-
Lights out and quiet times are to be respected.
-
Offensive language is not respectful and will
not be tolerated.
-
Food is not allowed in cabins at any time.
This is to help prevent rodents and insects from being attracted to the
cabins. Snacks are not to be brought or sent to camp.
-
Personal non-emergency phone calls (either
from or to camp) are not permitted during camp.
-
Visitors are not allowed during camp.
-
Campers must complete the registration process
at the beginning of camp. Campers must check-out at the close of
camp with the directors.
-
Alcohol, marijuana and other drugs are detrimental
to the camp experience and will not be tolerated.
-
Use of tobacco products (both chewing and
smoking) is not permitted at any time or at any place at Loch Leven during
camp.
-
Campers are to remain on the grounds unless
participating in a supervised off grounds activity.
-
Campers who drive their own cars must check
in their keys during registration.
-
Campers are not allowed in opposite sex cabins
at any time during the week. Inappropriate sexual activity will not
be permitted.
-
Age and grade levels at camp will be strictly
enforced.
-
No camper will be released prior to the close
of camp unless approved by the Camp and Conference Committee and/or the
camp directors. If approved, camper must be released to the parent.
If question of legal guardianship arises, consent is required from both
parents.
-
Campers are required to be at camp for the
entire time. Anything less MUST be approved by the Camp and Conference
Committee prior to camp.
Campers
Who Break the Following Guidelines Will Be Sent Home Immediately.
-
Possession or use of alcohol, marijuana and
other drugs are detrimental to the camp experience and will not be tolerated.
-
Leaving the grounds without permission from
the camp directors.
-
Behavior disruptive to the overall camp.
-
Because of the responsibility that the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) has to parents and guardians, explicit sexual
relations are not acceptable at camp. Participants will be dismissed
from camp.
Camp directors
have the discretion to create additional community
guidelines
as needed.
There is no
use of tobacco products (chewing or smoking) by campers, counselors or
directors during camp.
